Laura’s career in the plumbing and engineering industry began with a degree in Civil Engineering. Over the years, she has contributed to the field in various capacities, from technical support to sales leadership and strategic codes and standards work. She is currently the Senior Director of Strategic Marketing & Technical Services at McWane Plumbing Group. Laura is also a member of the ASPE WOA Committee. She is enthusiastic about leading teams, building strong industry relationships, and ensuring the highest technical standards. She is dedicated to giving back through involvement in organizations, including ASPE and MCAA.

Heather Palladino
Heather Palladino has over 25 years of professional experience in the design of water, natural gas, waste and storm drainage systems for public and private educational institutions, housing development, financial and corporate centers, and transportation-related facilities. She is also a member of the ASPE WOA. She looks forward to contributing as your Web Administrator & helping out the Social Committee.

Lauren Berenato
Lauren Berenato is the Senior Manager of Business Development at Bradford White and an experienced leader in the plumbing and mechanical engineering industry. Since 2016, she has built partnerships with engineering firms, delivered over 30 ASPE chapter presentations, and spoken nationally on topics like domestic hot water design, code compliance, and bacteria prevention. She now serves as the Vice President of Membership for the ASPE Philadelphia Chapter, in addition to her role as the Region 1 Affiliate Liaison. Lauren holds degrees in industrial engineering, law, and patent law. She is very excited to be the VP of Membership and help grow our chapter.

Mitchell Weiss, P.E.
Mitchell holds a B.S in Civil Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo and has been working in Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineering since September of 1995. He has worked for engineering firms in New York City, New Jersey, and Philadelphia. His experience includes projects that range from public works, rail yards, vehicle maintenance facilities, secondary and higher education facilities, health care facilities, R&D facilities, and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. He is currently the Education Chair of the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Society of Plumbing Engineering, and his main duty is to organize the Plumbing Design School that the Chapter holds.

Alex has worked as a manufacturer’s representative in Eastern PA for 20 years, after graduating from the University of Delaware with a major in Economics. Alex began his career in 2003 working with his family’s rep agency Barbieri and Kline who in 2021 merged with Pro-Line sales. Primarily focusing on commercial construction, Alex has worked closely with Contractors, Wholesale Distributors and Engineers, including previously serving on the ASPE Phila. Board. Alex currently resides in Glenside, PA with his wife, Lindsey and three children, Sam, Eli & Anna. He enjoys spending time with his family, working on home improvement projects, coaching youth sports and of course watching his Philadelphia Eagles.

Esmeralda is a Plumbing Designer at McHugh Engineering with nearly three years of industry experience. She specializes in designing efficient and reliable plumbing systems for a variety of building types, with a focus on code compliance and practical functionality. In addition to her design work, Esmeralda actively supports the professional plumbing engineering community through her involvement with ASPE; She was recently appointed Corresponding Secretary and Newsletter Editor for the Philadelphia chapter. In this role, she will help foster communication and keep members informed and engaged. Esmeralda is committed to continuous learning and is passionate about supporting collaboration and growth within the plumbing engineering field.

With over a decade of experience in the plumbing industry, including seven years in distribution, Kyle joined Rich-Tomkins Co. in 2021. As a Commercial Specialist, he works closely with engineers and mechanical contractors, providing product expertise and project support across a variety of commercial applications. He looks forward to contributing as Affiliate Liaison and supporting the board’s ongoing efforts

Jacob serves as a Manufacturer Representative at Thomas C. McCarthy Associates, With nine years of industry experience. Specializing in plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC solutions. He works closely with engineers, contractors, and end users, providing comprehensive support on specific product lines. As the AYP Liaison for the ASPE Philadelphia Chapter, Jacob is actively involved in advancing industry knowledge and fostering professional connections among emerging professionals. He is also serves the Chapter as the Golf Outing Chair.

Nikita Patel, P.E., ASSE 6060
Sherman Engineering
With almost a decade of experience in the compressed gas and vacuum industry, Nikita has a wealth of knowledge on equipment and pipeline design, sizing, and specifications. Nikita has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and completed her MBA in 2018. She is a licensed engineer in Pennsylvania and is a credentialed ASSE 6060 Medical Gas Designer. She works as a Sales Engineer for Sherman Engineering Company located near Philadelphia PA covering their mid-Atlantic territory and representing well known compressed air and vacuum manufacturers such as BeaconMedaes, Nash, Gardner Denver, and Elmo Rietschle. Niki is serving her second term as the appointed AYP Liaison and is a member of the Baltimore, DC and Philadelphia ASPE Chapters. She is chair of the AYP committee, serves on the Education Committee and Healthcare Credential Committee, and is a member of the International Chapter Development Working Group.

Chris Eyrich, CPMR
Vernon Bitzer Associates, Inc
Chris began his career in the plumbing industry as a wholesaler, gaining hands-on experience in shipping and receiving counter sales, and inside sales. With a strong focus on customer service, he transitioned to a local plumbing and heating contractor, where he served as a service dispatcher. His career path then led him to the role of manufacturer’s representative, where he furthered his expertise by completing the Certified Professional Manufacturers’ Representative (CPMR) program at the University of Texas.
Currently serving in Specification Sales at Vernon Bitzer Associates, Chris provides detail-oriented solutions and technical training to the engineering community. He is an active member of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) and is deeply committed to promoting education, professional development, and the growth of the engineering profession.

Matthew Martin
James Martin Company
Matthew’s extensive career has led him to be an expert in providing solutions to specifiers. Offering products for plumbing and mechanical systems in all types of construction. Currently he is the Vice President of Specification Sales for James Martin Company. With deep roots in eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware, you can consider him a strong member of your community. He has a storied history as a member of ASPE Philadelphia chapter going on 22 years. Go ahead and ask him. He will tell you!

William O'Donnell, FASPE, CPD
Bill started with PWI Engineering (Pennell & Wiltberger, Inc.) in May of 1981. He worked his way up to Plumbing Director and has been lead plumbing designer on numerous healthcare projects for multiple healthcare systems throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Bill has served on the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers since 1993 serving as President (twice), VP Technical, VP Legislative, Treasurer, Board of Governors (currently), Chairman of the Golf Committee, Social Committee, and has also been involved on the Society level in various positions. Bill also volunteers with several other organizations near his home in Sea Isle City.

David Smith, P.E., LEED AP
Starting his engineering career in 1982 with a focus on HVAC, Dave Smith expanded his expertise into plumbing and fire protection during an economic slump. When his boss suggested plumbing work, he readily adapted, recognizing the inherent similarities to HVAC design. Since then, he has spearheaded the design of diverse projects, from modest retail spaces to complex research facilities, encompassing specialties like clean agent suppression and clean room HVAC. His professional affiliations include ASHRAE, ASPE, and NSPE.
